United Way of Central Texas Hosting Fifth Annual Chrome & Carols Festival of Trees

Temple, Texas- December 1, 2015- The United Way of Central Texas is hosting the Fifth Annual Chrome & Carols Festival of Trees fundraiser on Thursday, December 3, 2015. The event will kick-off at 6:00 p.m. at Horny Toad Harley-Davidson in Temple. Admission tickets and reserved tables are sold out. KCEN Evening News Anchor, Nikki Laurenzo, will serve as this year's Emcee.

Eleven professionally decorated Christmas Trees will be raffled off December 3, with over $1,000 worth of gifts beneath each tree. In addition, there will be a trip vacation raffle, and a live and silent auction. This year's live auction items are the 2016 50th Annual Country Music Awards Package, Grand Harley Davidson Tree, New Year's Eve Reserved Table for eight at the McLane Hanger, and Grand Avenue Theatre Movies and Treats for a Year. All winners will take prizes home that evening.

Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy live music, a holiday meal catered by the Hilton Garden Inn of Temple, signature drinks, and a surprise appearance by Santa Clause himself.

"Attendees will also see a special holiday performance by "The Voice" star and country music artist, Holly Tucker, Team Blake Shelton," said United Way of Central Texas Director of Marketing and Volunteerism Mary Beth Kelton. "We are excited to have Holly perform this year. She is a talented country music artist and is an exciting addition to this year's event."

The UWCT holiday fundraiser is spearheaded by a community leadership committee. Seleese Thompson, owner of Precious Memories Floral and Gift Shop, and Fish Bowl Express, serves as the 2015 chairman.

“This is our fifth year,” Thompson said. “And this year, we are celebrating five years with a bang. Chrome and Carols is an exciting, unique event that brings the community together during the holiday season. The money raised benefits community impact programs and initiatives through the United Way of Central Texas. What better way to celebrate the season of giving, than to impact the lives of those living right here in our community.”

In 2014 Chrome & Carols Festival of Trees raised close to $40,000 for community impact initiatives.

“Chrome & Carols is a success because of our excellent committee team and community sponsors,” Kelton said. “This event is run by volunteers who dedicate countless hours, ensuring each year is better than the last. Without them, Chrome & Carols would not be possible. They not only support the United Way of Central Texas, but truly care about being on the forefront of helping Central Texans.”
